MALAYSIAN SENDS CONDOLENCES TO FAMILIES OF CAMERON HIGHLANDS LANDSLIDE VICTIMS
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak Monday conveyed
his condolences to the families of victims of the landslide that hit the Sungai
Ruil Orang Asli village in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, Sunday.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said Najib also expressed
his sadness over the tragedy in which seven died, including four women.
Two more victims who were seriously injured in the incident, are now being
treated at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh.
Najib also commended the efficiency of the search and rescue teams who took
eight hours to remove the victims from the rubble.
