Official dismisses claim Iran weapons intercepted
TEHRAN, Aug. 9 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast has rejected reports that Turkey intercepted an Iranian truck carrying weapons.
Mehmanparast said, “This report is old and dates back to 5 to 6 months ago; besides, there was no weapons in it,” according to PANA news agency.
Turkish diplomatic sources approached by Today's Zaman have allegedly claimed that an arms shipment from Iran to Syria was intercepted by Turkey two-and--half months ago in the southeastern province of Kilis.
