Iran ready to send human rights rapporteurs to UK: MP
TEHRAN, Aug. 9 (MNA) -- Iranian MP Hojjatoleslam Hossein Ebrahimi has said that the Majlis is ready to send human rights rapporteurs to the United Kingdom to investigate the violation of human rights in the country.
Violence erupted in London’s northern Tottenham district on Saturday over the fatal shooting by police of Mark Duggan, a black man.
“We call on the British government and officials in the British Embassy in Tehran” to make the preparations necessary for the dispatch of the Iranian human rights rapporteurs to the country, Ebrahimi, deputy chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told the Fars News Agency on Tuesday.
The rapporteurs will hold dialogue with British political prisoners, compile a report, and present it to relevant international organizations, he said.
