SUSPECT IN FRENCH TOURIST MURDER IN REMAND UNTIL AUG 16
KUANTAN (Malaysia), Aug 12 (Bernama) -- The suspect in the murder of French
tourist Stephanie Foray will be remanded until Aug 16 to facilitate police
investigation.
Pahang police chief, Sharifuddin Ab Ghani, said the remand order on
the 36-year-old suspect, who leased out diving equipment, was issued by the
Rompin Magistrate Thursday.
He said police were also waiting for the results of DNA test on Foray's
family members in France to match with the woman's body.
Following the discovery of the body, believed that of the 30-year-old French
woman, at Kampung Tekek, Pulau Tioman, last Monday police had detained two
suspects.
Sharifuddin said the other suspect, aged 44, had been released.
He urged those with information on the case to contact the police.
