Iran's Revolutionary court postpones Fa’ezeh Hashemi hearing
TEHRAN Aug. 14 (MNA) -- The revolutionary court, which is reviewing the case of Fa’ezeh Hashemi, has agreed to postpone her hearing until the next month.
The first hearing of Fa’ezeh Hashemi was scheduled to be held on Sunday to review the defamation charges leveled against her. Fa’ezeh lawyer had previously said that the revolutionary court lacks necessary discretion to review the case.
Speaking to the Fars news agency on Sunday, a court official confirmed the postponement, saying the court has accepted Fa’ezeh’s request to put the hearing off till next month.
Fa’ezeh Hashemi, the daughter of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, was arrested for participating in post-election protests in 2009 in Tehran.
When she was first arrested she said she was going to buy a sandwich and the second time she said she was out for buying clothes, according to the Fars news agency.
In some interviews, she even claimed that the country was being governed by thugs and hooligans, Fars reported.
