Russia's security counicl chief visits Tehran
TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) – Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev pays a visit to Tehran today, reportedly to discuss the “step-by-step” approach toward Iran’s nuclear program.
On July 13, Russia made a proposal for a “step-by-step” approach, according to which Iran could address questions about its nuclear program and be rewarded with a gradual easing of sanctions.
While welcoming the proposal, Iran announced that it would regard the proposal as a goodwill gesture.
During the trip, Patrushev will meet with Jalili, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and other Iranian officials.
Other issues, such as Tehran-Moscow ties and regional developments, will also be discussed during his stay in Tehran.
