AIRASIA JULY PASSENGER TRAFFIC UP 19.3 PCT
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- AirAsia Group's passenger traffic for July 2011 rose 19.3 per cent to 2.648 million from 2.218 million a year ago, with a major chunk contributed by AirAsia Malaysia.
AirAsia Malaysia carried 1.54 million passengers in July, an increase of 12.1 per cent from 1.37 million passengers in the same month in 2010.
The group's other units -- in Thailand and Indonesia -- carried 567,100 and 541,220 passengers respectively in July, the airline said in a statement on Thursday.
It said load factor for the group rose to 82 per cent from 79 per cent previously, while AirAsia Malaysia's load factor also went up three percentage points, to 81 per cent from 78 per cent.
