WESTERN DIGITAL OPENS DIGITAL LIFE STORE IN PENANG

GEORGE TOWN, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- Western Digital Corp (WD) is looking for
more strategic locations, especially in the Klang Valley and Johor state, to set
up digital life stores.

Its director of sales for South Asia, Margaret Koh, said the digital
lifestyle concept shop would allow customers to enjoy a fully interactive
shopping experience featuring WD's full range of external storage devices and
internal hard disk drives.

"We are looking for more retail outlets to showcase our products following
the rise in data consumption and such storage solutions are of utmost importance
in ensuring that data are always protected," she told a media briefing after the
launch of its digital life store here today.

She said the store would also showcase the latest WD products such as the
new My Book Live personal cloud storage, which provided shared storage on home
network that could be accessed wirelessly within and outside the home.

Koh said Penang state was chosen to site the store due to its vibrant growth
in economy and the demand for the latest technology here was still high.

"Penang is an important customer base for us to grow our business and with
this retail concept store, we can offer customers a fully interactive shopping
experience," she said.

She said the store would provide Malaysians an avenue to experience WD's
comprehensive range of storage and entertainment solutions all in one place.
