Tehran abhors Israeli air strikes on Palestinians
TEHRAN, Aug. 20 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has strongly condemned the Zionist regime for launching air strikes on the Gaza Strip and the Rafah border town, killing and injuring a number of Palestinian and Egyptian people.
In a statement released on Saturday, Mehmanparast said that the Zionist regime’s terrorist action against defenseless and innocent Palestinians was an attempt to shift focus away from its internal problems just ahead of the International Qods Day.
He also called on the international forums, especially human rights organizations, to condemn the inhumane action of the Zionist regime against Palestinians and make every effort to prevent the repetition of such attacks.
Israeli aircraft on Friday struck Hamas security installations in Gaza, killing at least six Palestinians, in further retaliation for attacks along the Egyptian border in which eight Israelis died.
Israeli jets on Thursday also killed four Egyptian border guards near the Rafah border town.
