Commandoes save Iranian ship from pirate attacks
TEHRAN, Aug. 21 (MNA) – The Iranian Navy commandos have foiled three attempts by pirates to hijack an Iranian commercial vessel, a Navy commander announced on Saturday.
Pirates launched three attacks on the Iranian ship in the Bab-el-Mandeb strait, the Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Aden, but each time they were swiftly encountered by ships of the 15th Fleet of the Navy and forced to flee.
It was the Navy’s 21st encounter with pirates since the beginning of the new Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, 2011.
