Iranian Quran reciter Amin Puya wins first prize at Tunisia contest
TEHRAN, Aug. 21 (MNA) -- Iranian Quran reciter Amin Puya won first prize at the first post-revolution International Quran Reading Competition in Tunis, which ran from August 12 to 16.
Competitor Hassan Zarnusheh Farahani also came in third in the memorization section of the contest, the Persian service of Fars News Agency reported on Saturday.
Puya also won first prize at the Russian Quran competition last year.
Tunisian Religious Minister Laroussi Mizouri underlined the importance of the first international religious competition since the Tunisian Revolution early this year, calling it an important stage in the political life of Tunisia.
