Iran to launch rocket into space by summer’s end

TEHRAN, Aug. 23 (MNA)-- The Iranian Space Agency (ISA)said domestically manufactured Kavoshgar 5 rocket will be launched into space by the end of summer.
The rocket, weighing 300 kilograms, will carry a capsule containing a rhesus monkey, said Hamid Fazeli, the ISA director.
The rocket will be orbiting at an altitude of 120 to 130 kilometers above the Earth’s surface, Fazeli added.
He went on to say that ISA plans to conduct studies on the vital signs of the monkey, adding the result is highly important in helping the country send humans into space in the future.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Fazeli said two other satellites namely Navid and Fajr will also be launched by the end of Iranian calendar year (March 19).
Navid is a research satellite, which was designed by scientists at the Science and Technology University in Tehran.
