Libyans should safeguard their revolution: Iran
TEHRAN, Aug.24(MNA) -- Iran has congratulated the Libyan people on their victory over the regime of Muammar Gaddafi and has advised the Libyan people to stand their ground and safeguard the revolution.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday saying that Iran is ready to share all its experiences with the Libyan people to help them achieve freedom, justice, human dignity, progress, and prosperity.
“The popular uprising in Libya once again proved the fact that satisfying the legitimate demands and aspirations of people and respecting their opinions is an undeniable necessity,” the statement said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran respects the legitimate demands of the Muslim people of Libya and hopes that the people, who drove the foreigners out of their country through their outstanding endeavors in the past, continue their resistance and safeguard their revolution, it added.
The statement also said Iran hopes that the anti-colonialist people of the country, as they have done before, will prevent foreigners from meddling in their internal affairs and will determine their own destiny by promoting national solidarity.
