Iran's Bushehr power plant’s turbine successfully tested
TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) – The turbine of the Bushehr nuclear power plant’s reactor was successfully tested on Tuesday, according to Atomic Energy Organization of Iran chief Fereydoun Abbasi.
“Tests were successfully carried out on the turbine of the Bushehr nuclear power plant’s reactor yesterday,” Abbasi told reporters on Wednesday.
He also said that the power plant has reached 40 percent of its capacity, adding that preparations are being made for the initial launch of the power plant.
Abbasi had previously said that the Bushehr power plant will be connected to the national grid by the end of the holy month of Ramadan (August 31).
The plant, which is located near the port of Bushehr on the coast of the Persian Gulf, will produce 1000 megawatts of electricity once it becomes fully operational.
