SOMALIA HUMANITARIAN AID MISSION MOST DANGEROUS YET - PRESIDENT

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 26 (Bernama) - Putera 1Malaysia Club president Abdul
Azeez Abdul Rahim said the Humanitarian Aid Mission to Somalia will be the most
dangerous yet.

The mission, the 15th to be undertaken by the club, will be accompanied by
Somalis here and President of Udubland Somalia Ibrahim Abdullahi Addo.

He said the mission comprising 66 people would leave on Sunday and expected
to return home on Sept 8.

"The mission will carry food, medical equipment and medicine for distribtion
and will be accompanied by 40 doctors. We will buy about 200 tonnes of food and
will leave on A330 aircraft with cooperation of AirAsia and MAS," he told
reporters after the mission's launch at Seri Perdana, here Thursday.

The mission was launched by the Prime Minister's wife Rosmah Mansor. Also

Azeez said they engaged locals from the transition government to ensure the
aid reached those in need and officials would take them to places such as camps.
