MALAYSIAN KING RECEIVES CAKES DESIGNED FOR AIDILFITRI

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysian King Tuanku Mizan Zainal
Abidin received 18 cakes from various hotels for the Aidilfitri celebration at
National Palace Friday.

They included a fruit cake themed "Merdeka Raya" weighing 50kg from Federal
Hotels International Sdn Bhd and a 90kg cake depicting a minaret from Shangri-La
Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

The cake fest, which was also graced by Queen Tuanku Nur Zahirah, is an
annual event held for the King to usher in Aidilfitri.

Other hotels showcasing their cakes were InterContinental Hotel Kuala
Lumpur, Hotel Universiti Teknologi Mara, JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur and YTL Hotel
and Properties, The Westin Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala
Lumpur Convention Centre, Kosmopolito Hotels International.

Equatorial Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Hilton Petaling Jaya, Crowne Plaza Mutiara
Kuala Lumpur, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur,
Istana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Park Royal Kuala Lumpur, Mandarin Oriental Kuala
Lumpur and Ri-Yaz Heritage Marina Resort and Spa Kuala Terengganu.

After the ceremony, Tuanku Mizan and Tuanku Nur Zahirah presented "duit
raya" (a green envelope) and gifts to National Palace employees.
