Anti-PJAK operations continue till security is established: IRGC
TEHRAN, Aug.27(MNA)--The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) will continue operations against the counter-revolutionary group PJAK until complete security is restored, Hossein Taeb of the IRGC announced on Friday.
PJAK (the Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan) has committed numerous terrorist acts over the past years and there have been numerous skirmishes between the terrorist group and Iranian security forces, including the IRGC ground division troops.
“With the continuation of operations of Sepah ground forces, we will witness annihilation of PJAK terrorist group and will eradicate the group from the region,” stated Taeb, the IRGC intelligence chief.
The group is within the control of Iranian security forces, thanks to the serious measures taken against it so far, he noted.
An IRGC ground forces commander recently announced that so far PJAK has killed 397 innocent people in the Kurdistan region of Iran.
Army Colonel Aziz Hassan-Aqdam has also said PJAK members are receiving training in parts of Armenia.
“The terrorist group PJAK, after suffering a heavy defeat in West Azerbaijan’s south, went to the northern part of the province,” Hassan-Aqdam stated.
