INTEL COMMITTED TO GROWTH IN MALAYSIA

KULIM (Kedah, Malaysia), Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Intel will continue to grow in Malaysia as it believes the country is very attractive for its expansion plan.

The company celebrates 40 years of operations in Malaysia next year.

Intel Malaysia Managing Director Robin Martin said Intel is totally
committed to growing in Malaysia and has invested more than US$40 billion since 1972.

"The Malaysian government through the Ministry of International Trade and Industry is very supportive of companies like Intel. Having a very stable political system and government also makes Malaysia attractive for us," he added.

He was speaking to reporters after Intel Malaysia's Aidilfitri Festive Cheer 2011 Programme at Intel Technology Sdn Bhd here on Friday night.

The programme was attended and officiated by Deputy Minister of
International Trade and Industry, Mukhriz Dr Mahathir.

At the event, both Mukhriz and Martin also presented clothing and cash to more than 100 children from orphanages in northern state of Kedah.

Intel Malaysia has two major plants here and in Penang, focusing on
manufacturing, involving components and boards, design and development of products and new packages as well as services.
