Leader pardons 100 security prisoners: Tehran prosecutor
TEHRAN, Aug. 28 (MNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei pardoned and commuted sentences of 100 prisoners, who were incarcerated for security-related offences, Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jaffari Dolatabadi announced late on Saturday.
Seventy of them were released on Saturday night, twelve others had their sentences commuted and the rest eighteen had their sentences suspended, Jaffari Dolatabadi noted.
The persecutor said the prisoners had repented their offences.
