Special Performance Given by State Merited Chorus to Congratulate Kim Jong Il upon His Successful Historic Foreign Tours

Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- A special performance was given by the State Merited Chorus to congratulate Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, upon his successful historic tours of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.
He was present to watch it on invitation.
The performance started with the playing of the National Anthem.
The repertoire included male choruses "Please Receive the Best Wishes of People" and "The General Steers the New Century" and mixed quartet and male chorus "Glory to Our Great Party".
He expressed great satisfaction over the splendid performance given by the State Merited Chorus as it was so high in ideological and artistic value that it fully represented the might of the harmonious whole of Songun Korea and the revolutionary soldier spirit.
