Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers shine in Hungary
TEHRAN,Aug.29(MNA)--Three Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers claimed gold medals in the FILA Cadet World Championships in Szombathely, Hungary on Sunday.
Iran won three gold medals and two bronzes in the two-day competition. In 46kg weight class, Reza Khedri from Iran defeated Armenian Albert Vardanyan and claimed the gold. Azerbaijan and Hungary wrestlers won the bronze jointly.
Ramin Taheri claimed gold medal in the 54kg class after beating his Russian rival in final. Bronze medal went to Armenian and Kazakh representatives.
In 63kg class, Payam Bouyeri defeated Michel Daher from Hungary and won the gold. The wrestlers from Armenia and Russia claimed the bronze jointly.
Iran’s Amir Zarrin-Chegini in 100kg weight class and Saeid Kordi in 50kg class won the bronze medals in the tournament.
Iran Greco-Roman wrestling team finished at third place after Azerbaijan and Russia. Iran freestyle team had already finished at second place in the competitions.
