Fisherman found dead in north Qld

A missing fisherman has been found dead on his boat off the north Queensland coast.
Police said a search aircraft found the 10-metre fishing boat at Halifax Bay, north
of Townsville, about 11am (AEST) on Saturday.
The boat was reported missing at 7pm on Friday after attempts to contact the
fisherman failed.
Police said the body of the 56-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of the
vessel, was found onboard.
"Initial investigations suggest the death is not suspicious," a police statement said.
The coastguard has towed the boat back to Townsville where investigations will
continue, the statement said.
