Iran starts mass production of 73-mm anti-tank missile
TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (MNA)-- Iran on Monday inaugurated the production line for a 73-mm anti-tank missile (ATM) during a ceremony attended by Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi.
Having a special warhead, the missile can penetrate the target to a depth of 300 millimeters and destroy it, Vahidi stated.
The rocket can be used in targeting tanks, personnel carriers, light armored vehicles, and military arsenals.
The new ATM can be either carried on military vehicles or by a person and it can hit targets located up to 1300 meters away, he noted.
Vahidi said the missile is used in ground operations and plays an important role in close combats and distant strikes.
