22 PJAK members killed in new IRGC operation: report
TEHRAN, Sept. 5 (MNA) -- In its new military operation the IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guards Corps) killed 22 PJAK members and injured 27 others, IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting )reported on Monday.
The operation began on Friday in Sardasht Heights along the northwestern border with Iraq. The IRGC announced that its operation will "continue until all counter-revolutionaries, rebels and terrorists have been cleared away."
In July, the IRGC launched a major offensive against the PJAK. However, it halted operations during the fasting month of Ramadan to give the rebels a chance to lay down their arms but they failed to do so.
