10TH CULINAIRE MALAYSIA FROM SEPT 20 TO 23 AT KLCC
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- The 10th Culinaire Malaysia, a renowned
showcase of the country's best of culinary arts and food and beverages, will be
held from Sept 20 to 23 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The three-day event will draw a gathering of more than 1,000 local and
international chefs, bartenders and F&B personnel.
Organising chairman and Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH)
secretary-general Sam Cheah said the event would have three new categories,
namely "Iron Butcher Chef Challenge", "Chocolate Showpiece and Desert Challenge"
and "Sugar Showpiece and Chocolate Cake Challenge".
"In total, there will be 36 categories of events, cold display, patisserie,
pastry cup challenge, artistic, butchery skill, hot cooking, team challenge, pub
challenge and F&B gold opulence service," he said in a statement Monday.
Meanwhile, MAH president Mohd Ilyas Zainol Abidin said it was hoped
that the event would encourage and upgrade local culinary standards.
It would provide an opportunity for Malaysia's chefs and international chefs
to view and learn from the different culinary cultures on display, he said.
