UAE President offers Dh200 million for Afghanistan's reconstruction

Abu Dhabi, Sept.22, 2008 (WAM) - President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has donated AED 200 million to Afghanistan as part of his effort to ease suffering of Afghani people. The grant will be used to build infrastructures so as to assist the Afghani people tap their energy and resources for reconstruction on one hand and contribute to ongoing efforts for restoring security and stability on the other.

The president directed the Khalifa bin Zayed Charity Foundation to coordinate with the competent Afghani authorities to allocate and channel funds into sustainable social, economic, health, educational and essential services utilities projects.
