GOVT BANS IMPORTED CHINESE MILK FROM MARKET
Jakarta, Sept 22 (ANTARA) - Minister of Health Siti Fadilah Supari said the government for the time being banned Chinese milk formula products from Indonesian soil.
"The relevant authorities are in the middle of examining imported Chinese milk in the country, and the results will be known in the next two or three days. And for the time being the Chinese products are banned from the market," Head of the Public Communications Center of the Ministry of Health Lily S Sulistyowati said here Monday night.
She added that right now only imported Chinese milk "Guozhen" is allowed on the market with the permission of the Drug and Food Supervisory Agency (BPOM).
This milk is produced by Yantai New Era Health Industry Co. Ltd and imported by PT Chi Indonesia.
The BPOM chief has also called on the general public to help the government by immediately reporting any imported Chinese milk with no BPOM registration number.
