Iran`s Zob Ahan plays a draw with Persepolis in Isfahan
ISFAHAN, Sept.10(MNA) -- Isfahan’s Zob Ahan played a draw with Persepolis on Thursday night in the Iran Professional League (IPL).
Zob Ahan, who will represent Iran’s football in the AFC Champions League quarterfinal against Suwon Samsug Bluewings in South Korea on Wednesday, was held to a 2-2 draw against Persepolis in the home game.
Esmaeil Farhadi provided the lead to Zob Ahan just two minutes into the game after a blunder from Persepolis keeper Misagh Memarzadeh.
Shortly after, Persepolis however dominated the game and created so many chances but its strikers failed to equalize the match.
After three minutes into second half, Persepolis captain Ali Karimi scored an equalizer.
The visitors could have scored more goals but wasted the chances in front of goal.
And then, Portuguese player Machado put Zob Ahan in a lead once again in the 79th minute.
Persepolis kept going after Zob Ahan and finally salvaged a point in the injury time when Reza Nourmohammadi headed the ball past Zob Ahan keeper Shahab Gordan.
