Tbilisi festival to stage Iran’s “Terminal”
TEHRAN, Sept.11(MNA) -- Siamak Ehsaii’s “Terminal” will go on stage at the Tbilisi International Festival of Theater which will be held from September 14 to October 8 in Georgia.
Fatemeh Motamed-Arya, Shabnam Moqaddami and Pantea Panahiha star in the 60-minute play.
“Terminal” is based on three separate short stories written by Mehrak Qazvini. The dialogues of the characters in the stories have been adapted by Siamak Ehasaii for the play, in which three women, who seem to be three different aspects of a single woman, tell their life stories.
In an interview with Tehran Times in 2008, Ehsaii told that “repetitious activity” was the central motif of the play, pointing out that within it, the characters dress as chickens, treat patients, and sweep the floor repetitiously in an indoor space without walls”.
Tbilisi International was founded by Tbilisi Municipality, by an initiative of Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava in 2009.
