MAS OFFERS 'FAVOURITE SPOT' ON ITS FLIGHT
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) passengers flying
Economy Class on international routes can now choose their ‘Favourite Spot’ when
they book their tickets online through www.malaysiaairlines.com.
Executive vice-president of Commercial Strategy for MAS Dr Amin Khan
said with the Favourite Spot option, passengers could choose from two-seat
categories, Premium seats that cover the first few rows and emergency exit
seats, and Standard seats encompassing other seats in the Economy Class cabin.
He said the introduction of the advanced seat selection option followed the
overwhelming response the service received on domestic routes during its initial
introduction in December 2010.
He said that introduced on international sectors since mid-July this year,
the 'Favourite Spot' provided Economy Class passengers the freedom to select the
best seats that suited their needs and preferences at a nominal fee.
"One out of every three bookings through our corporate website registers a
preferred seat selection, which is 35 percent of our daily bookings. This is
another enhancement that gives our customers better control over their travel
experience.
"It provides an assurance and peace of mind that they will have their
preferred seats secured for their flights even before arriving at the airport,
which is why it is a standard offering by many major airlines," he said in a
statement Sunday.
He said extending the advanced seat selection option to include
international flights enhanced the MH experience for travellers flying
throughout the national carrier’s network, especially on long-haul flights.
"It is also a testament of Malaysia Airlines’ continued investment in
value-added online services for greater customer convenience," he said.
