Iran-manufactured UAVs fly on reconnaissance missions

TEHRAN, Sept. 13(MNA) – The domestically manufactured unmanned aerial vehicles successfully flew on reconnaissance missions during the second stage of the Defenders of the Skies of Velayat 3 aerial war game, which ended on Monday, Iranian Brigadier General Hossein Chitforoush announced.

He also said that the new command center of the Air Force became operational and was employed to control seven squadrons of Air Force fighter jets and transport planes flying in formation.

In addition, he said that the third stage of the war game will begin on Tuesday, in which electronic warfare equipment, aerial combat tactics, and ammunition of fighter jets will be tested.

In this stage, Iranian fighter jets, including the Sa’eqeh (thunderbolt), will carry out hundreds of sorties and will drop high-tonnage smart and precision-guided bombs on mock targets, he explained.

Air Force transport planes will also carry out various operations such as airlifts and the transportation of military equipment and airborne troops, he added.
