Iran`s Tabriz Petrochemical wins Tour de Brunei
TEHRAN, Sept. 13 (MNA) -- Tabriz Petrochemical claimed the title of the Butra Heidelberg Cement Tour de Brunei 2011 on Monday.
In the overall team classification, it came as no surprise as Iran's Petrochemical claimed the trophy with a time of 45:28:45.
Thailand national team finished in the runners-up spot three minutes behind (45:31:45) while the Philippines' 7 Eleven-RTS Cycling Team came third with the time of 45:33:14.
Shinichi Fukushima, Japanese rider of Terrenganu Pro-Asia cycling team, won the yellow jersey of the event with a time of 3:37:32.
"We think we could have also won the yellow jersey but we made a mistake... we only brought four riders. If we had six we could have taken the yellow jersey," Iran coach Ahad Kazemi said.
"If the race is held again next year we will bring six riders so maybe we can have a bigger chance of winning the yellow jersey," he concluded.
A total of 14 teams from 12 countries took part in the five-stage tour held in the State of Brunei Darussalam.
