IRGC has taken preemptive action against PJAK
TEHRAN, Sept. 14 (MNA) -- IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guards Corps ) Commander Mohammad Ali Jafari said that the IRGC has launched preemptive attacks on PJAK in northwest Iran to incapacitate the terrorist group so that it cannot pose a security threat to the country in the future.
“According to our intelligence, we knew that counter-revolutionaries had planned to take action against the Islamic Republic with the support of the United States, so the Sepah planned and carried out an operation and the Sepah forces were deployed in the region,” Brigadier General Jafari stated in an address at the ceremony commemorating martyred IRGC personnel.
Since July 11, IRGC forces have carried out several major operations against the counter-revolutionary group PJAK in northwestern Iran and have inflicted heavy casualties on the group.
The IRGC has announced that the operations are being conducted to clear terrorists out of the region.
