Iran U-16 football team beats Palestine
TEHRAN, Sept. 14 (MNA) -- Iran crushed Palestine in Group A of the 2012 AFC Championship qualifiers in Duhok, Iraq.
The Iranian outfit defeated Palestine 5-0 while host Iraq outclassed Bangladesh 7-0 in the same group.
“Palestine played very well against us in the first half. I think they would be a tough opponent for Qatar and Iraq in our group,” Iran coach Ali Dustimehr said.
Iran will play Qatar on Wednesday.
Thirty-nine Asian teams divided into 4 groups of six and 3 groups of five teams each.
Top two teams from each of the groups and best third team from West and East zones will qualify for the tournament.
