Mentally retarded Iranian children to hold benefit concerts for Somalia

TEHRAN, Sept. 17 (MNA) -- A group of mentally retarded Iranian children will hold benefit concerts for famine-stricken Somali children.

Organized by the Ayyar Center of Tehran’s University of Arts, children who are members of the Reyhaneh Charity Organization will hold concerts on September 28, 29 and 30.

The three-hour performances are divided to three sections, one is dedicated to pop performances, another to daf playing and the last to a choral performance by the children, one of the organizers Katayun Amiri mentioned in a press release.

“The children will sell tickets and issue receipts. The tickets are ranged from 50,000 rials (about $4) to 1,000,000 rials (about $80) according to the desires of the audiences, she added.

The concerts will be held at Tehran`s Farabi Hall which can be found past the intersection of Vali-e Asr and Enqelab, opposite Bozorgmehr St.
