Iran`s Culture Ministry gives nod to “Absolutely Tame Is a Horse”

TEHRAN, Sept. 18(MNA) -- “Absolutely Tame Is a Horse” finally gained the approval of the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for screening, Filmiran, the film’s distributor, announced on Saturday.

Filmiran will soon make the necessary arrangements to premiere the film in Iran, Filmiran Director Ali Sartipi told .

The Culture Ministry had previously banned “Absolutely Tame Is a Horse” due to its depiction of police corruption in Iran.

In early September, director Abdorreza Kahani criticized the Culture Ministry for imposing restrictions on his films. The ministry refused to grant him a production license for his “Saeid Arasteh”, a new project with a social theme.

Last year, Kahani’s “Nothing”, about a man who is suffering from gluttony, failed to obtain a screening license from the Culture Ministry until he agreed to cut some scenes from the film. However, it missed its foreign premiere due the ministry’s disapproval.
