TEHRAN, Sept. 21 (MNA) -- Iran`s two cities of Tehran and Shiraz will be hosting the second conference of Iranian and the world poets from October 8 to 11.

Over 40 poets from 30 countries including Britain, Denmark, Norway, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Jordan and China are invited to the conference, Iranian Minister of Culture Mohammad Hosseini said in a press conference held here on Tuesday at the Culture Ministry.

“Unfortunately, the poetry of the Islamic Revolution is not popular in the world and it is our duty to hold festivals and conferences, and to invite poets to become more familiar with the contemporary poetry of Iran,” Hosseini said.

Yahya Talebian, the deputy minister of culture for poetry and literature also present at the conference said that poets are invited through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and Iran’s cultural offices in other countries.
