Canadian festival to honor Iranian director Derakhshandeh

TEHRAN, Sept. 21 (MNA) -- Canada’s third Iranian Film Festival will pay tribute to the Iranian director Puran Derakhshandeh.

The festival, which will be held from September 23 to 25 in Toronto, will honor Derakhshandeh for her life time achievements as a director.

Headed by Dariush Arjmand, the jury of the event consists of Iranian cineastes Bahman Habashi, Alireza Khamseh, and Morteza Shayesteh.

Mohammadreza Golzar, Ana Nemati, Sahar Valadbeigi and Mehdi Mahani are among guests of honor at the festival.

Bahram Bahramian’s “Aal”, Alireza Davudnejad's “Salve” and Masud Kimiaii’s “Crime” are some of the films which will go on screen at the festival.

“Nocturnal Emissions”, “Candle in the Wind”, “A Love Without Frontier”, “Little Bird of Happiness”, “Lost Time”, “Eternal Kids”, “Passing Through the Dust”, and “Endless Dreams” are among Derakhshandeh’s credits.
