LIBYA WELCOMES MALAYSIAN INVESTORS
KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) - The new administration in Libya, which is
to set up a government soon, has welcomed investors from Malaysia to share their
expertise to help Libya realise its development plan.
Libyan Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Abu Bakar Al-Mansori said Thursday that
Malaysia could play an important role in his country's development.
"We look forward to some sort of assistance in terms of education,
industrial training, construction and other fields. We can see the capability
(of Malaysians) and their performance in order to share in our development
plan," he said at a press conference.
The Libyan people have formed the National Transitional Council (NTC) which
has formulated an administrative structure under an executive council. The
executive council is to be converted into a cabinet of ministers within a few
days.
Dr Al-Mansori said Libya was looking forward to cooperation from various
countries as it had resources and great potential to expand its economy.
"Libya opens the door for all businesses, either in trade or other fields,
to many countries in the world. We are looking forward to businesses and
relations from any country.
"Libya has quite huge resources and potential. Companies are invited to do
their business in Libya as we practice an open-door business (policy)," he said.
