MALAYSIA CONTRIBUTES US$2 MLN TO PALESTINIANS

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) -- Malaysia has contributed US$2 million
to the Palestinian National Authority as part of Malaysia's continued assistance
to the Palestinians.

The Foreign Ministry in a statement here said the contribution was handed by
Foreign Minister Anifah Aman to Palestinian National Authority Foreign Minister
Dr Riyad Al-Maliki at a simple ceremony held at the Permanent Mission of
Malaysia in New York.

"The contribution by the Malaysian government to the Palestinian National
Authority is a testament and reaffirmation of Malaysia's full support to the
Palestinian cause and its solidarity with the people of Palestine," it said.

Both ministers are attending the 66th Session of the United Nations General
Assembly in New York.
