MALAYSIAN DESIGNERS ENTER FRENCH READY-TO-WEAR MARKET
KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) - Three Malaysian designers have
successfully penetrated the French ready-to-wear market, having secured RM1.6
million (US$0.53 million) in sales orders from French boutique owners.
The designers, PU3, Meesha Sukira and Roslan Wilkinson, were among eight
Malaysian designers who participated in the four-day "Who's Next? 2011
international trade exhibition in Paris, France, which ended on Sept 6.
"The objective of the event was to promote Malaysian designers to key
international fashion markets in Europe and to give local designers the exposure
and access to the international fashion industry," said the Malaysian External
Trade Development Corporation in a statement Friday.
A total of 129 individual business meetings were held for the Malaysian
designers involving agents, buying houses and individual buyers.
