London does not want poor relations with Tehran: British foreign secretary
TEHRAN, Sept. 25 (MNA)--During a separate meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and British Foreign Secretary William Hague, which was held in New York on Wednesday, Hague said London does not want to have poor relations with Tehran.
Hague said dialogue and political cooperation can prevent any possible misunderstanding and help both sides reach a “mutual understanding.”
In the meeting, Salehi also pointed to the current developments in the region and strongly criticized the West for adopting double-standard approaches toward the developments before and after they occur.
He also emphasized that Iran is ready to have dialogue with Britain based on mutual respect and promote cooperation on different issues such as Afghanistan, war on drugs, and terrorism.
