AirAsia collaborate with Malaysia's state-owned flag carrier MAS
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysia-based low-cost carrier AirAsia says it can collaborate with Malaysia's state-owned flag carrier MAS in areas like cargo, logistics, sales, distribution, catering and training.
"If you put MAS' and AirAsia's training academies together, that will become one of the biggest training academies," AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tony Fernandes said at the Khazanah Megatrends Forum 2011 here on Monday.
Malaysia could also become Asia's biggest trainer of pilots by harnessing the strength of the two airlines, he added.
In a deal signed last month, AirAsia's majority shareholder Tune Air swapped a 10 per cent stake with Malaysia's state-owned investment arm Khazanah Nasional for a 20.5 per cent stake in MAS.
