U.S. Move to Deploy "Global Hawk" in S. Korea Assailed

Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- The United States is seeking to deploy "Global Hawk" in south Korea. This drone equipped with infrared camera, radar set and detectaphone is capable of flying 40 hours at the altitude of 20 000m and discerning even a material with the size of 30 cm.
Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed commentary: The U.S. claims the deployment is linked with the decommissioning in 2015 of "U-2" which has been in use so far.
The commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea said the projected deployment is aimed to monitor the military moves of the DPRK, including its ballistic missile launch.
Military experts observe "Global Hawk" is capable of conducting espionage not only against the DPRK but Northeast China and other regions.
The U.S. also plans to introduce latest F-35 stealth fighters to south Korea. It is quite natural for countries in Northeast Asia to watch with high caution the U.S. arms buildup to adversely affect the security in the region.
