Party President provides guidance visit to Nakai District
(KPL) During his guidance visit to the Khammouane province on 19 September, Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary – General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President met with local administration officials, police and military officers, and people in Nakai district.
During the meetings, the president congratulated the local people for their achievements made during the past few years. He also briefed the people about the importance of the Nam Theun II hydropower project, which is the co-operation project between Lao government and foreign investors.
Mr. Choummaly pointed out the necessity of environmental protection and agricultural production in order to boost the revenue of local people. He also provided advice for building up village building and village development cluster building.
He also told them of the concern of the Party Central Committee and the government for people in outlying mountainous areas and the difficulties they face. So far the Party and the government have put in large amounts of both money and efforts into socio-economic development in mountainous areas.
Mr. Choummaly also called for ethnic people of all social strata to unite and implement the resolution of the 8th party congress and the national’s laws and regulations. He asked them to overcome all difficulties to fulfil the cause of national defence and construction.
