Tas cops warn of angel's trumpet drink
SYDNEY (AAP) - 27 Sept - A number of young Hobart residents have spent time in hospital after drinking a brew made from a common, poisonous flower, police say.
The tea-like drink was made from datura, a flowering plant also known angel's trumpet, which can cause severe hallucinations, bizarre and paranoid behaviour and periods of amnesia.
Several other young people around the city have also been offered the drink, police said.
A young southern Tasmanian man has been summonsed on a supplying a restricted substance charge, police said.
