Market free from contaminated milk products: Dubai Municipality
WAM Dubai, Sept 24, 2008 (WAM) - Dubai Municipality official said the market here is free from the Chinese milk powder contaminated with poisonous melamine substance.
Khalid Sherif Al Awadhi, director of the department of food control at the Dubai Municipality, said through scrutinising data of imported milk it was found out that no contaminated milk powder in Dubai market, adding that "most of the imported milk products at the market were from major world brand companies with good reputation in this field".
He added that the recent contaminated milk powder was produced by local company in China, indicating they such products "do not find their way into the country, as importation is subjected to certain specifications and standards".
