SEVEN DIRECT FLIGHTS FOR MALAYSIA HAJ PILGRIMS

KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines will have seven direct flights to Jeddah and Medina for haj pilgrims from the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia from the Sultan Mahmud Airport here for the coming haj season.

State Lembaga Tabung Haji (Pilgrimage Board) director Mohammad Mokhzani Mukhtar said the flights, carrying 447 pilgrims, will land at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah and the Prince Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Medina.

"This is the fourth year Tabung Haji and Malaysia Airlines are providing direct flights to Jeddah and Medina from here," he told reporters after attending a briefing here on Wednesday for government agencies involved in coordinating haj travel.

Mohammad Mokhzani reminded pilgrims, especially from Kelantan and Pahang, to be present at the Sultan Mahmud Airport by 7.30am for their flights which will take off at 11.35am.
