BE READY FOR FLOODS, MALAYSIA AGENCIES, STATE GOVT'S TOLD
KOTA BAHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), Sept 28 (Bernama) -- Fire and Rescue Department Director-General Wan Mohd Nor Ibrahim has advised the relevant agencies and state governments to make early preparations for possible floods in their respective states.
He said on Wednesday the preparations are necessary to ensure the agencies concerned can immediately provide the necessary assistance to flood victims when the need arises.
"Those concerned are reminded to make preparations, including hold meetings in October to discuss the cooperation and their respective role should there be floods," he told reporters after the Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department's Aidilfitri celebration here.
He said about 13,000 firemen nationwide have been instructed to be on standby and make the necessary preparations for possible floods.
