KUALA LUMPUR WINS TOP WORLD TRAVEL AWARD

BANGKOK, Sept 29 (Bernama) –- Kuala Lumpur has won the World Travel Award for Asia's Leading City Destination.

The announcement was made by the World Travel Awards website on Thursday.

No announcement was made for the category during the 18th World Travel Awards regional ceremony for Asia and Australasia here on Wednesday night because no representative of Kuala Lumpur was present.

The website also named Pan Pacific Hotel at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport as the winner of Asia's Leading Airport Hotel award.

World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the travel and tourism industry.

The awards have become the most sought after in the industry.

World Travel Awards nominations are decided by an independent panel of industry experts and judging takes into account every aspect of the
business, including overall performance, product development, innovation, creativity and customer satisfaction.
